Health Impact Assessment

Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a combination of procedures, methods and tools by which a policy, program or project may be judged as to its potential effects on the health of a population, and the distribution of those effects within the population.

A direct relationship exists between environmental quality and human health. Changes in ambient air quality, water resources can have direct and/or indirect impacts on health.

Assessment of environmental impacts of a proposed project should involve HIA. In some cases HIA is handled independently.

HIA is an essential aspect of projects impact assessment we implement in EcoPro. We recognise that poor segment of human population including women and children, as well those differently (disable) enabled require special attention. We have public health experts and technical partnership with health management professionals and scholars and utilizes these assets in providing HIA for our clients, either as a stand-alone study or as part of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment studies. We also provides industry-specific health impact studies for diverse sectors such as; Urban Transportation, Energy and Power, Real Estate Development, Waste Management Facilities, Dam projects, etc.
