Environmental and Social Impacts Appraisal as Part of Feasibility studies for the proposed BRT Route extension from Mile-12 to Ikorodu Town, Lagos State

At the conceptual stage of the proposed extension of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Route from Mile-12 to Ikorodu Town in Lagos State, Lagos Area Metropolitan Transport Authority (LAMATA) contracted Integrated Transport Planning Limited (ITP), a United Kingdom based firm to conduct feasibility studies for the proposed extension. The findings of the impact appraisal informed final decisions and project design in order to minimize negative impacts of the proposed project on the environment and people, which included implementation of Resettlement Action Plan.

ITP engaged Triple 'E' Systems Associates Limited to provide local support for the assignment. Some present key members of EcoPro specifically, Mr. Bartholomew Ndulue (Project Manager), and Mr. Obehi Eguakhide played lead roles in implementing the Feasibility Study; from field survey, stakeholders’ engagement, data analyses as well as Feasibility Report preparation.

The assignment was conducted in 2010.
